Trends in front-end development are very dynamic.

What was in trend yesterday, may not be compatible with today’s requirement. And this is what makes the job of a front-end developer very adventurous.

So if you are an aspiring front-end developer, here are a few guidelines for you as a beginner:

First of all, let’s understand the difference between a front-end developer and backend developer. Now imagine you are watching a video over the internet on YouTube, what comes on your screen is what is done by a front-end web developer and the back – end developer arranges this data into a database from the server.

Now, why are we telling you this to you is because in order to be a front-end web developer you have to know some basic knowledge of how the front-end and back-end of an application interact with each other.

A front-end developer has to know in detail about the user interaction part of the website and applications using such as HTML CSS and JavaScript.

Let’s start with HTML:

Hypertext Markup Language is the foundation of every webpage. Without it, every content on the Internet will be a shapeless wall of text. With HTML you can define the various parts and structure of your webpage.

CSS:

That is Cascading Style Sheets. CSS helps us to describe the presentation of web pages. We use CSS to decide how the HTML should look. We use CSS to make web pages responsive. CSS looks deceptively easy at first but,  it can quickly become challenging.

Javascript:

JavaScript is the first language that you’re likely to learn as a front-end web developer. Generally, web pages are made in JavaScript through Document Object Model is popularly known as  DOM.

Now let’s take a look at the tools and technologies that you will regularly use as a front-end web developer.

Text Editor:

The first one is a Text Editor. Now, this is one of the tools that you will spend most of the time with. It is where you write a code for a given site or application.

Developer tools:

Developer tools for Google Chrome and Firefox let you look at any website and see how it is structured which really helps in website development. These tools help you evaluate and debug your applications. You can manipulate an experiment with your applications with the help of this tool.

GIT:

GIT is a popular version control system and helps you with easily managing different versions and features of web pages. You can also revert to previous versions of a project.

GitHub is a specific service that helps you to share your code online as well as accessing other existing codes online

There are also other few important Technologies that are important for front-end web developers for  learning:

 SASS/ CSS preprocessors:

Once you have a good understanding of CSS, you will be ready to learn sass/CSS, which is also known as a preprocessor of CSS. Basically, it adds useful features to CSS.

JavaScript libraries:

jQuery has been around since 2006 and it is been widely still used in a lot of websites. It is not the newest library, but it is still worth knowing as a front-end web developer. It has designs that will help you to develop and maintain Complex designs.

Command line:

Learning command line will give you a greater control over the functionality of a computer. It will help you install different software packages and libraries.

Module Loading/Blending tools:

As your projects go larger and complex, you will find that they are made up of many different parts. Tools like  Webpack and Browserify will help you in bundling your code so that they are loaded quickly and efficiently into the browser and open your applications little faster.

Word Press:

About 25% of the web content is WordPress. WordPress is an extremely popular platform and you can extend the functionality of any WordPress site through any of the thousands and free open source of plugins
